The Prime Minister visited Raj Ghat and Vijay Ghat, the memorials of Gandhi and Shastri, respectively, to pay their tributes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 2 paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 152nd birth anniversary, saying his life and thoughts will inspire every generation to follow the path of their duty.
“I bow to respected Bapu on Gandhi Jayanti. His great principles are globally relevant and give strength to millions of people,” he said. The Prime Minister also paid tributes to the second Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri, on his 117th birth anniversary. His life based on values and principles will always be a source of inspiration for all citizens, tweeted Mr Modi.
