Shri Modi was speaking virtually after launching eight Vande Bharat trains connecting Secunderabad in Andhra Pradesh to Visakhapatnam at Secunderabad station on Sunday.

With more than 40 lakh passengers traveling in the train, ‘Vande Bharat Abhiyan’ was developing rapidly across the country. The train for the inaugural run carrying railway officials, support staff and media persons stopped at all intermediate stations along the route as people including women and children thronged to take selfies, videos on mobiles or wave the national flag and some cheering Raised patriotic slogans.

Dr Soundarajan said people can look forward to more modern train services, while Mr Vaishnav said the indigenously designed semi-high speed train will be the first state-of-the-art train available exclusively for day travel between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam Is. Shri Kishan Reddy thanked the Prime Minister and the Railway Minister for allotting new trains to the Telugu states. Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman, Railway Board CEO Anil Kumar Lahoti, SCR GM AK Jain and other top officials were present.
