Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will campaign in around 20 places in poll-bound Karnataka.

He said that the program of the Prime Minister’s campaign is being finalized.

“There is every possibility of the prime minister campaigning at around 20 places,” Bommai told reporters.

“At most (of these) places he will address rallies and hold road-shows in some,” the chief minister said.

Karnataka will go to polls on May 10 and the results will be declared on May 13.

The party’s list of 40 star campaigners for the election includes PM Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and a strong team of Union ministers.

According to the list of leaders released by the party, Union ministers include Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani, Dharmendra Pradhan, Mansukh Mandaviya and Prahlad Joshi.

Besides Adityanath, chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Assam Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Himanta Biswa Sarma, respectively, and Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis have been inducted.

Mr. Bommai, Karnataka BJP stalwart BS Yeddyurappa, former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda, some Karnataka ministers and state party leaders also figure in the list.
