PM Modi’s mother Heeraben health update: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Ahmedabad hospital where his ailing mother Heeraben Modi has been admitted, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited her on Thursday morning to inquire about her health. The CM had also visited the hospital on Wednesday.
Heeraben (100) was admitted to a super specialty hospital here on Wednesday due to some health issues and her condition is stable, hospital officials said.
PM Modi reached the hospital in the afternoon to meet his ailing mother. After reaching Ahmedabad, he went to the hospital and stayed there for over an hour.
While leaving the hospital, PM Modi folded hands in a ‘namaste’ gesture in front of the crowd and waiting media persons. The PM also spoke to the doctors in the hospital.
BJP MP Jugalji Thakor said Heeraben’s condition is stable and she may be discharged in a day or two.
Hiraben, also known as Hiraba, was admitted to the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, a government funded autonomous hospital located in the premises of the Civil Hospital.
“The Prime Minister’s mother has been admitted to UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, Ahmedabad and her condition is stable,” the hospital said in a statement.
BJP MLA from Dariyapur Kaushik Jain told PTI-Bhasha, “He has been admitted to the hospital for investigation. His condition is normal. Prime Minister Modi’s elder brother Somabhai is also present in the hospital.
Heeraben lives with PM Modi’s younger brother Pankaj Modi in Raisan village near Gandhinagar city. The Prime Minister regularly visits Raison and spends time with his mother during most of his visits to Gujarat.
Hiraben turned 100 in June this year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his mother on June 18 in Gandhinagar to celebrate her 100th birthday. On the occasion of his birthday, PM Modi washed his mother’s feet and took her blessings. Worship was also done at Hatkeshwar temple in Vadnagar to mark his birthday.

PM Modi dedicated a blog highlighting his mother’s sacrifice. “Today, I feel extremely happy and privileged to announce that my mother Smt. Hiraba Modi is entering her hundredth year. This is going to be her birth centenary year.” PM Modi wrote.

Recalling the difficulties faced by his mother in his childhood, PM Modi said, “My mother is as simple as she is extraordinary. Like all mothers. PM Modi’s mother lost her mother at a very young age. He said, “He doesn’t even remember my grandmother’s face or the comfort of her lap. He spent his entire childhood without his mother.
