after UPSC Civil Services Exam Result 2020 Announced on 24 September, Prime Minister Narendra Modi On 25 September gave words of encouragement to the candidates who could not pass the exam. On the one hand, PM Modi said that more efforts are still being made, and on the other hand, he said that India has a plethora of diverse opportunities that individuals can explore.
In his tweet, the PM wrote, ‘To those young friends who did not clear the UPSC exam, I would like to say – you are a very talented person. Still waiting for more opportunities.” He further wished all the candidates good luck whatever they decide to do.

Further, congratulating those who have been able to clear the UPSC Civil Services Examination, PM Modi said that an exciting and satisfying career in public service awaits them. He confirmed that candidates who passed the exam would earn important administrative roles.

On the evening of 24th September, UPSC declared the result of Civil Services Exam 2020, and a total of 761 candidates came flying. Out of the total candidates who qualified for the exam, 545 were male and 216 were female. Shubham Kumar of Bihar secured the first position while Jagriti Awasthi of Madhya Pradesh secured the second position.
Shubham holds a bachelor’s degree in Bachelor of Technology (Civil Engineering) from IIT Bombay. He qualified for the Civil Services Examination with Anthropology as his optional subject. whereas Jagriti, who has a B.Tech (Electrical Engg) degree Qualified for the exam from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, with Sociology as an elective subject.
According to UPSC, candidates will be recommended for posts in the Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Administrative Service and Central Services. The appointment will be made keeping in view the number of vacancies available and the provisions contained in the rules of the examination.
