PML-N asks Nawaz Sharif to show ‘little courage’ after Imran Khan escapes arrest

New Delhi: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML) leader Maryam Nawaz on Sunday (March 5, 2023) took a dig at Imran Khan for evading arrest in the Toshakhana case and asked her father and party supremo Nawaz Sharif to give some courage to the former Pakistan prime minister Said to She said that Nawaz was a brave man as he faced jail in poor health conditions, while Imran Khan never went to jail. Maryam wrote in Urdu on her official Twitter account, “Listen Nawaz Sharif, give Imran Khan a little courage.”

He said in another tweet, ‘The lion may be innocent, he comes to Pakistan from London holding his daughter’s hand and arrests her. ,

She reprimanded Khan and said that if a jackal is a thief, he hides behind others’ daughters for fear of his arrest and uses them as shields.

He also said that the country has now come to know the difference between a lion and a jackal.

Imran Khan was seen evading arrest after police came to his house

Earlier on Sunday, high-profile drama continued at the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan after Islamabad police arrived to arrest him in the Toshakhana case. Khan, however, escaped arrest and his legal team assured the police that he would appear in court on March 7.

PTI vice-chairman and former Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said there is no mention of “arrest” in the warrant as the Islamabad sessions court has asked him to appear on March 7 in the Toshakhana case.

The cricketer-turned-politician, who recovered from a bullet injury sustained in an assassination attempt last year, has dropped out of trial three times.

The court had last week issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Imran Khan and adjourned the hearing till March 7 over his repeated non-appearance.

He has been in the crosshairs for buying gifts, including an expensive Graff wristwatch, which he obtained at a discounted price from a state depository called Toshakhana and selling them for a profit.
