PNG: Kerala: 9,380 PNG connections provided till March 31. Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: 9,380 domestic connections of petroleum natural gas (pngAs per the latest data from the Industries Department, 63 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations have been provided in the state till March 31.
Though PNG domestic connections have been made available in only three out of the targeted 11 districts, CNG stations have been opened in almost all the 11 districts except Kasaragod. The highest number of PNG connections have been provided in Ernakulam (8,864), followed by Alappuzha (391) and Alappuzha (391). Thiruvananthapuram (125). However, the target set for March for other districts is yet to be met. As per the target set for March, 2,000 connections were to be provided to Kannur, Kasaragod And Palakkad has 1,000 connections, Alappuzha 1,200 connections and Thiruvananthapuram has 250 connections.
As part of the development of city gas distribution network in the state, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) had entrusted the project to M/s Atlantic Gulf & Pacific for distribution of natural gas in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Alappuzha. While 48 km of pipeline was completed in the first phase, 450 km of pipeline was completed in the second phase. The Chief Minister said that the completion of the GAIL project has given impetus to the industrial development of the state and will significantly reduce the expenditure on fuel.
