Poisonous liquor scandal in Bihar: 11 more people died, 32 people died

Bihar Liquor Tragedy: 11 more people died in Bihar due to consumption of spurious liquor. With this, the death toll due to spurious liquor in the state has gone up to 32. Officials told PTI that 15 people have died in Bettiah, 13 in Gopalganj and four in Samastipur due to consumption of spurious liquor.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday held a review meeting regarding the prohibition of liquor in the state. He tweeted, “Review meeting was held on ‘Sankalp’ on 1 Anna Marg regarding prohibition of liquor.” The Chief Minister said that action is being taken against those manufacturing spurious liquor.

According to reports, raids have been conducted at 60 places in Gopalganj district of Bihar and 19 people have been arrested so far in the case of spurious liquor.

Earlier in the day, Bihar BJP President Sanjay Jaiswal said that the law on liquor is strict but the situation shows that people are not that aware.

When asked about this, Jaiswal said, “The law is strict and made with strict rules, but the circumstances suggest that people are not that aware. The primary task of the government will be to stop the mafia gangs in villages as the police control is less. ” death by alcohol

Janata Dal (United) President Rajeev Ranjan Singh said that earlier also there had been an incident of spurious liquor in Gopalganj and the matter was investigated and people were convicted.

“Earlier when there was spurious liquor incident in Gopalganj, we investigated the matter and convicted people for it. There is a law for death penalty for murder but people still do it. Law is law, so if you break the law If you do, you will be punished,” Singh said.
