Police questioned three people after members of the Hindu Sena put up flags and banners near the main gate of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Manoj C., Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-West) said, “On Friday morning, it was noticed that some flags and banners have been put up on the streets of JNU and the surrounding areas. Due to the recent incident, they were immediately removed and appropriate legal action is being taken.”

He said a case was registered under Section 3 of the Delhi Prevention of Deformation of Property Act, 2007. “Factual and scientific evidence was collected and the three persons involved in the crime were tied up as per the legal process and the vehicle used in the crime was confiscated,” Mr Manoj said.

In a case where a person is bound, they are not booked under any legal provision, but they are released subject to the condition that they appear before the police for further investigation.
