Speke’s Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that the police are stopping serious entry initiatives coming to the town as part of a trial run to ensure smooth traffic arrangements in the city. Masses from Chandigarh will stop at Shoghi, screen those coming from Highpeak/Kinnaur while those entering from Road, Kangra and Hamirpur will be stopped at Hiranagar.
According to police figures, around 60,000 vehicles remain stuck on the roadside in the city.
On average, about 12,000 vehicles enter the vehicular traffic on weekdays, while the number rises to more than 26,000 on weekends.
Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said, “A total of 16 roadblocks result in traffic flow out of control and we are preparing a proposal for traffic vigil at three entry gates – Shoghi, Chhabra and Hiranagar, which are active during rush hours. will stay”

Police officials said cameras have been installed at 16 major roadways/points and bifurcations, including Sanjauli, Dhal, Lift-Victory Tunnel stretch, Victrinal-Lakkad Market Break, Railway Station, New Week, ISBT crossing.
Police said the communication has an idea to make the daily hauling of tents pleasant and enjoyable for the local residents and extend the duration of their tents.
