New Delhi, Sep 16 (IANS)| The accused in the National Conference leader Trilochan Singh Wazir murder case were planning their murder for the last two-three months and taking inspiration from the Bollywood movie Drishyam, were presenting fake evidence to mislead the police. Officials gave this information on Thursday. The body of Wazir, 67, with his head wrapped in a plastic bag, was found on September 9 in the washroom of a flat in west Delhi’s Moti Nagar, which was rented out by his acquaintance Harpreet Singh (31). Police said they have arrested two men – Rajendra Choudhary alias Raju Ganja (33) and Balbir Singh alias Billa (67) from Jammu, while two suspects Harpreet Singh and Harmeet Singh are absconding. Several police teams have been formed to search for the absconding accused.
Police said the four accused had planned and visited places to dump the body at the metro station or IGI airport, but could not succeed in their plan. Elaborating on how all this happened, the police said that Harpreet had on August 14 called his classmate Chaudhary from Mumbai to Delhi and assured him of a taxi driver’s job here.
He told that on the instructions of Harpreet, he left Delhi from Basai Darapur and went to Punjab on September 1 and switched off his mobile number and started using another number in Jammu. On September 2, he took the goods of the Wazir from his house in Jammu and left for Delhi. Police said he had restarted his number in Punjab and came to Basai Darapur in a taxi on September 3.
Choudhary was dropped in the taxi around 11.30 am (as per his plan) and returned from Kashmere Gate area at 5.30 pm, he said, adding that he remained at the spot along with other co-accused Harpreet. Harmeet and Badla. He goes to the terrace with Harpreet and Harmeet and plans to kill the Wazir.
Harpeet handed over a pistol to Harmeet. Police said that they came back and Harmeet allegedly shot Wazir, who was already unconscious due to the sedative given by him. A senior police officer said that the accused planned the murder in the last two-three months on the lines of the Bollywood film Drishyam and created false evidence to mislead the police. Call detail record analysis revealed that Harpreet made calls to several numbers in Jammu after September 3, and one number was found to be registered in the name of Choudhary’s mother, the officer said.
