Delhi Police has arrested two persons and recovered over 150 kg of illegal firecrackers from Central Delhi and Rohini.
DCP (Central) Shweta Chauhan said a 49-year-old man, identified as Girdhari Lal, was arrested in Paharganj area with 115.1 kg of illegal firecrackers. “On Thursday, the police were patrolling in Paharganj. Around 10:45 pm, they reached Gali Sangat Ration in Paharganj, where Lal was selling crackers near his residence,” she said.
DCP (Rohini) Pranav Tayal said that 46 kg of banned non-green and green firecrackers were seized from 24-year-old Akash, a resident of Budh Vihar in Phase-I.
On Thursday, information was received regarding the sale of illegal firecrackers during patrolling in Budh Vihar area. Akash was found selling firecrackers at his house,” Mr. Tayal said, adding that the man was arrested and released on bail.
