The dinner meeting may be about new body selection for Mumbai Cricket Association, sources said
BJP sources said Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, NCP President Sharad Pawar and BCCI’s newly-appointed treasurer Ashish Shelar will meet over a dinner here on Wednesday.
Interestingly, the dinner meeting takes place on the eve of Mumbai Cricket Election Association (MCA) Fadnavis, Pawar and Shelar (who heads the Mumbai BJP unit) are meeting over dinner at the Garware Club in south Mumbai.
Sources said the dinner meeting could be about the selection of the new body for the Mumbai Cricket Association.
Voting for the five posts of office bearers, nine councilors of the Apex Council and two representatives for the General Council of T20, Mumbai is scheduled to take place on October 20.
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s close aide Milind Narvekar and NCP leader Jitendra Awhad are also contesting and filed their nominations from a panel formed by Pawar and Shelar. Narvekar is the secretary of the Thackeray-led faction, while Awhad is one of Pawar’s most trusted aides in his party.
