panda: Ponda Thana It had to be sanitized on Monday after three of its staff members tested positive for Covid.
The infected include two policemen of the special branch and a woman police constable of the city police station. All three are currently in home isolation.
“The lady constable was sent for tests after she was suffering from fever for the past several days. After his test result came positive, he was sent to isolation for 10 days,” said Ponda PI Mohan Goude.
Stating that the source of the infection is unknown, Goude said that all police personnel have been fully vaccinated. He said that his staff is following all preventive measures at the police station and denied that she could be infected with the virus at the station. “A person can get the infection even at home, so it is difficult to trace the source of contracting the virus”, he said.
In July 2020, the station had to be sanitized after several personnel tested positive. The officials had also barred the entry of people inside the police station premises and a temporary shed was built in front of the police station. news network
