much awaited trailer of Mani Ratnam ponniyin selvanis out. The makers of the film unveiled its trailer at a grand audio launch event in Chennai on Tuesday. The video, over three minutes long, includes several larger-than-life frames. The trailer, which is voiced by Kamal Haasan, tells the story of the Chola dynasty and introduces its audience to several characters from the film. The video starts with a long shot of a vast empire featuring Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Jairam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan etc. The video shows several fight sequences and the prosperity of the state. Actors Vikram, Karthi and Jairam Ravi are seen fighting in many sequences, some of the characters in the film have some dialogues from here and there. The video ends with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan watching the empty throne.

In the film, Vikram played the character of Aditya Karikalan. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays a dual role and Jayaram Ravi plays the titular role. The film also stars Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Shobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj in lead roles.

ponniyin selvan Originally intended to be a stand-alone film, it was later split into two parts.
The first part of the film is set to hit the theaters on September 30 in five languages - Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
