Postponement of NEET PG: Kerala House Surgeons Association to NBE

Kerala House Surgeons Association (KHSA) has urged to postpone the National Eligibility Entrance Test- Post Graduate (NEET PG) 2022 exam by one more month. It further asked the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to extend the eligibility date till August 31.

KHSA wrote to NBE, “Medical students from Kerala were subjected to prolonged periods of uncertainty regarding their clinical postings and exam dates, resulting in repeated postponement of their final MBBS exams and, in turn, their internships.” ”

“Of the approximately 8,500 interns who were ineligible to appear for the examination, around 2,500 intern doctors were from Kerala,” the KHSA said in a statement.

It further said, “Around 2,500 house surgeons under the Kerala University of Health Sciences will be ineligible to write the NEET PG exam as their internship will end by August itself, as the eligibility criteria have been set on July 31. The deadline for the internship eligibility criteria was earlier changed from May 31 to July 31, without accommodating Kerala interns.”
