Amid rising demand for electricity during summer, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said that the state government is trying its best to overcome the shortfall in power supply.

He said that talks have been held with the companies providing electricity and soon a meeting will be held in this regard.

Khattar was addressing the media after presiding over the meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Redressal Committee held in Gurugram.

These days the power crisis is deepening in the entire state. Electricity demand has reached its peak in April so far.

Power companies have refused to provide electricity at low rates amid increasing demand. However, in the ongoing talks, the state government has asked the companies to provide electricity at the rates fixed during the agreement.
