Lucknow: Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, facing allegations of sexual harassment of Indian wrestlers, is organizing a ‘Jan Chetna Maha Rally’ in Ayodhya, the epicenter of Hindutva politics, on June 5, where Saint Puri Invited from North India.

On Thursday, Brij Bhushan shared a poster of the upcoming event on his Facebook page, saying that the seer is “calling on the public to participate”.

Speaking to ThePrint, Brij Bhushan’s representative Sanjeev Singh said the rally is being arranged by the MP’s team, but is being led by saints.

“Sages from across the country, especially from North India, social organizations and jurists and consultants are being invited,” he added. “Social groups from all castes and communities are being invited. Saints are being invited from areas like Ayodhya, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, Gujarat etc. Saints themselves are sending invitations, we are only making arrangements.

When asked about the purpose of the mega rally, Sanjeev Singh said it was not a show of strength, but to emphasize that “law should not become an instrument of oppression”.

“A committee of seers is organizing the rally,” he said. “A meeting of the committee will be held soon.”
