Prashant Kishor taunts Nitish over Bihar’s road condition; Says it reminds them of ‘Jungle Raj of the 1990s’

Prashant Kishor, the convener of ‘Jan Suraj’ campaign, on Thursday demanded that his former mentor Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s claims of revamping the state’s roads be rejected. Kishor, who is touring the state as a spade for his full-time debut in politics, shared a picture of a national highway passing through Madhubani district on his Twitter handle, which he said reminded him of the “Jungle Raj of the 1990s”. . ,

Kishor tweeted, “Nitish ji recently asked the officials of the road construction department to inform people about the condition of roads in the state.”

The “Jungle Raj of the 1990s” was a reference to husband-wife duo Lalu Prasad and the RJD, who ruled Bihar for 15 years until the defeat of their RJD by the Kumar-led NDA in 2005. The chaos and the poor condition of the roads were two of the primary matters on which the RJD faced criticism.

Kishor, who helped the Lalu-Nitish alliance win the 2015 assembly elections and formally joined the JD(U), then led by Kumar, as their number two, two years later. Feel that both the leaders state down. Having given up on his career, which has given him the opportunity to walk shoulder to shoulder with the people of Indian politics, Kishor brings the promise of transformative, bottom-up politics to his home state.

While there was no response from the state’s ruling government on Kishor’s tweet, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways reacted to a newspaper report that was shared by the IPAC founder.

“The work on the NH mentioned in the article will be done by NHAI. However, till now the road has not been given by the state government. Work on the said project will start in two weeks,” the ministry tweeted. Incidentally, Kishor rose to fame after handing over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resoundingly successful 2014 election campaign, in which the then chief minister of Gujarat led the BJP with a thumping majority in the Lok Sabha.
