Prayagraj: UTS ticketing system will be given to private individuals. Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj : With a view to increase revenue and increase earning opportunity persons of 36 railway stations, which come under Prayagraj Division of North Central Railway (NCR), will be selling railway tickets. Firstly the officials of Prayagraj Division have sought applications for this under Computerized Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS). This starts the process of opening Railway Ticketing Center which will be managed by private owners. Moreover, increasing the revenue of the Railways, these privately managed UTS trains will make it easier for passengers to buy unreserved tickets. The cities where UTS counters will be managed include Prayagraj, Kanpur, Fatehpur, Aligarh etc. The allotment of UTS centers will be done on the basis of lottery. Applications are to be taken in closed envelopes. Any person who has passed high school, owns a house in the city etc. can apply for the allotment of the centre. Also, the applicant must obtain a NOC from the police of his/her respective district, clearly mentioning that there are no criminal charges against him/her. Prayagraj Mandal PRO Amit Singh says that he should not be a defaulter of loans etc. ‘Railways in a way is providing employment opportunities to educated youth under self-reliant India.’
“The 36 cities for which tenders have been floated under Prayagraj Division include Prayagraj, Kanpur, Fatehpur, sonbhadraChunar, Mirzapur, Etawah, Hathras, Shikohabad, Aligarh etc. These are the stations where the number of rail passengers is high.
Apart from the main city Prayagraj, preparations are being made to open the center outside including Manda Road, Meja Road, Chivki etc. Similarly Sirathu, Khaga, Bharwari, student e.t.c. Earlier also, the facility of selling tickets to the general public was provided through computerized unreserved ticket centers which were opened near major railway stations. However, all the centers remained closed during the Corona period.
