1. As Karnataka CM race intensifies, Siddaramaiah, DKS leave for Delhi

After a massive victory of 135 seats in the 2023 Karnataka Assembly Elections, Choosing a CM candidate is another test for the Congress, The party high command has reportedly called Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah and KPCC chief DK Shivakumar – both the main contenders for the post – to New Delhi to decide on the party’s choice.

While Mr. Siddaramaiah left for the national capital in a special aircraft on Monday morning, Mr. Shivakumar, who is celebrating his 62 Ra birthdayExpected to reach Delhi by evening. Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on Sunday passed one line resolution Authorizing AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge to choose the leader of the CLP.

2. The coach of the Chennai-Bengaluru double-decker express train derailed

One coach of DR MGR Chennai Central – KSR Bengaluru Double Decker Express (Train number 22625) traveling from Chennai to Bengaluru, Bisanattam derailed soon after leaving the station (located 20 km from Bangarpet) around 11.30 am on 15th May. According to South Western Railway (SWR) officials, no injuries or casualties were reported.

Around 130 passengers traveling in the derailed coach were made to sit in other coaches. After detaching the affected coach, the train left for Bengaluru.

3. BJP leader KS Eshwarappa gets missed call, suspected of threat call

Former minister KS Eshwarappa claimed that he received a missed call on WhatsApp around 12.30 am on May 15, believed to be from Kazakhstan, and he Suspected it to be a threat call,

Handing over a complaint to the Superintendent of Police, Shivamogga, seeking an inquiry into the calls, he said, “During the investigation into the threat calls made to Union minister Nitin Gadkari in the past, a dairy was recovered from one of the accused. My name was written in the book. Therefore, I suspect that the missed call was an attempt to intimidate me.

4. Adanda Cariappa resigns as director of Rangayana in Mysore

Addanda Cariappa – Notorious for writing and directing controversial plays tipu nija kansugalu (Tippu’s real dreams) – has resigned from the post of director of RangayanTheater Institute in Mysore. He submitted his resignation letter addressed to the Secretary, Kannada and Culture Department on 14 May.

In the wake of the electoral defeat of the BJP, which had appointed him, Mr Cariappa said he had accepted the mandate of the people and was resigning taking moral responsibility.

Recently on 4th May Mr. Cariappa Determined For allegedly making false statements and inciting religious hatred during an election campaign speech at T. Shettigeri village in Kodagu district.
