India’s Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla addressed the Ministry of External Affairs briefing on 14 December. “From tomorrow, President Kovind will be on a state visit to Bangladesh. This tour will last from 15 to 17 December. The visit is in the context of the 50th Victory Day celebrations in Dhaka, in which the President of Bangladesh has invited President Kovind to represent India as the Guest of Honor”, said Foreign Secretary Shringla. “The year 2021 commemorates the great victory over the Pakistani Army and their unconditional surrender without our combined forces – the Indian Armed Forces and the Bangladesh Army”, he said.
