Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra On Tuesday, in a video message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a 25-second viral video was played Sunday incident in Lakhimpuri Kheri And asked why the government did not take action against those responsible.

“In this video the son of a minister in your government is shown crushing farmers under his car. Watch this video and tell the nation why this minister was not sacked and why his son was not arrested yet? Asked Ms Vadra in the video that she posted on her Twitter handle.

“You have arrested opposition leaders like me without any order or warrant. I want to know why this man is still free?” He said, referring to Ashish Mishra, son of Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni.

Ms Vadra said that when the Prime Minister presided over the Azad Ki Amrit Mahotsav celebrations in Lucknow, he should remember that the farmers got the country’s freedom and even now, their sons protected the country’s borders.

“For many months, farmers have been trying to raise their voice and you are denying it. I request you to come to Lakhimpur. Hear their pain who gave us our freedom, our Annadata [food providers], the soul of the nation. It is your duty to protect them, your constitutional duty and your responsibility towards the Constitution,” she said.

In an earlier tweet to Mr Modi, the Congress leader informed that he was detained for more than 28 hours without any order or first information report (FIR).

on Monday, Uttar Pradesh Police arrested Ms. Vadra In Sitapur when she was going to Tikoniya village of Lakhimpur Kheri and had kept her in a guest house since then.

Congress workers have been protesting outside Sitapur guesthouse since Monday demanding his release.

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted, ‘He who has been kept in custody is not to be afraid. She is a true Congressman and will not give up. Satyagraha will not stop.”
