Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will attend India Jodo Yatra on Wednesday When it enters Madhya Pradeshsenior party leader Jairam Ramesh said.
This is the first time that Priyanka Gandhi, general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, will join the yatra.
Mr Ramesh said in a tweet that Tuesday is a rest day for the yatra which will resume on Wednesday and enter Madhya Pradesh near Burhanpur.
Congress general secretary in-charge of communications said in his tweet in Hindi, “Priyanka Gandhi will join the yatra there and participate for four days.”
Former Congress leader Rahul Gandhi along with other party leaders and workers began the cross-country Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on 7 September.
It has so far passed through Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra.
