PTDC chief says Le Cafe to be temporarily closed to allow public and staff to move

As part of improving facilities to improve tourism, Puducherry Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Limited is in the process of renovating Le Café at Promenade Beach and upgrading Seagull Restaurant into 24X7 eateries both on the beach and at Chunnambar Boat House. Is. PTDC Managing Director George K. Maram said in a press note that Puducherry Smart City Development Corporation Limited has undertaken a complete renovation of Le Cafe on Beach Road at a cost of 50 lakhs. He said that the operations of Le Cafe have been temporarily closed to the public and the employees are being transferred to other units of PTDC till the re-opening of Le Cafe after the renovation. The Seagull Restaurant and Chunnambar Boat House complex located on the beach will from now onwards operate round the clock offering food and beverages. PTDC said that the items of excise duty would be made available as per the guidelines of the government. Watersports activities are also being started in Chunnamber from 5 am when the first boat service will start for sunrise ride and allied activities. The entry to Chunnamber Boat House will be free for pregnant women and physically challenged persons. PTDC said that these additional working hours have been brought into operation to improve and attract more tourists.
