PTC India appoints 3 former IAS officers as independent directors

New Delhi: PTC India on Tuesday appointed three retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers as independent directors of the company.

The company has also appointed Mahendra Kumar Gupta as Nominee Director of NHPC.

PTC India in a statement informed about the appointments of Rashmi Verma, Jayant Dasgupta and Narendra Kumar as independent directors of the company with effect from April 13, 2023.

It added that the appointments are subject to shareholders’ approval.

Rashmi Verma, a former IAS officer of 1982 batch, has 36 years of experience as an IAS officer in various fields. His last post was that of Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism. Verma also served as Secretary, Ministry of Textiles and as Additional Secretary, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.

Dasgupta, a 1981 batch retired IAS officer, has 37 years of experience and has served as Chief Advisor, Bihar State Planning Board and Ambassador to the World Trade Organisation. He also served as the Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council.

Narendra Kumar, a retired IAS officer of 1988 batch, has over 34 years of experience in various sectors of Govt. He served as Financial Commissioner, Government of NCT of Delhi and Managing Director of Delhi State Financial & Development Corporation.

In addition, Mahendra Kumar Gupta joined as Nominee Director of NHPC, a veteran in the power sector. He has more than 35 years of experience in commercial and construction.
