Punjab: Another victory for AAP; All 5 members elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha

AAP’s candidate for Rajya Sabha Punjab Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh, party leader Raghav Chadha, Lovely Professional University founder Ashok Mittal, IIT Delhi professor Sandeep Pathak and industrialist Sanjeev Arora were among those in the polls to be held on March 31.

Returning Officer Surinder Pal said Thursday was the last day to withdraw candidature and all five AAP candidates were elected unopposed. The tenure of five Rajya Sabha members from Punjab, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa (SAD), Naresh Gujral (SAD), Pratap Singh Bajwa (Congress), Shamsher Singh Dullo (Congress) and Shwet Malik (BJP), ends on April 9. ,

Who are your Rajya Sabha candidates:-

Harbhajan Singh: Harbhajan, a former spinner of the Indian cricket team, hails from Jalandhar. He also captained Mumbai Indians and Kings XL Punjab in the Indian Premier League.

Ashok Mittal: Mittal is the founder of Lovely Professional University (LPU), Phagwara. LPU is the first in Punjab and the largest private university in India.

Raghav Chadha: AAP’s co-in-charge of Punjab affairs. Chadha is credited with helping the party secure victory in the state assembly elections.

Sandeep Pathak: Pathak is an Associate Professor at IIT-Delhi. He is credited with formulating AAP’s winning strategy in Punjab. He has a PhD from Cambridge University, UK.

Sanjeev Arora: Arora is a businessman from Ludhiana. He runs the Krishna Pran Breast Cancer Charitable Trust and founded it after his parents lost their lives to cancer. More than 160 patients have been given free treatment in his trust.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has registered a landslide victory in the assembly elections. Punjab elections By winning 92 seats, it marginalized most of its rivals. The Congress had won 18 seats in the 117-member assembly. Bhagwant Mann of the Aam Aadmi Party became the first Chief Minister of Punjab to be sworn in from a non-Congress and non-Congress party on 16 March.
