Punjab: Bhagwant Mann will take oath on Wednesday, other MLAs will take oath later

Nominated Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mannu News agency will take oath on Wednesday ANIOther MLAs will be administered oath later, he said.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held on March 16 at Khatkar Kalan, the native village of great freedom fighter Bhagat Singh in Nawanshahr district, where Mann will be sworn in as the new chief minister.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) entered the house by winning 92 seats in the 117-member Punjab Assembly.

It devastated the Congress and SAD-BSP alliance and its candidates defeated several stalwarts including Channi, SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal and former chief minister Amarinder Singh.

Earlier today, AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal along with Bhagwant Mann paid obeisance at the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

Soon after reaching Amritsar, Kejriwal went straight to the Golden Temple to offer prayers.

Earlier, the Chief Minister of Delhi, who was accompanied by his deputy Manish Sisodia, Mann received him at the airport. Senior leader Raghav Chadha was also present.

Kejriwal and Mann will also visit the Durgiana Temple and Shri Ram Tirath Temple here.

Later, he will take part in a roadshow in Amritsar to celebrate the party’s thumping victory and thank the voters.
