Punjab Board class 10th result 2022: Nancy Rani of Ferozepur tops the exam – Times of India

Mohali: Nancy Rani, a student of Government High School Satiewala Firozpur, topped the state by securing 99.08% marks in the Class X results declared here on Tuesday. Dilpreet Kaur of Guru Tegh Bahadur Public Senior Secondary School, Kanjla Sangrur secured the second position and Komalpreet Kaur of Bhutal Public Senior Secondary School, Bhutal Kalan (Sangrur) secured the third position.

Nancy and Dilpreet who have scored 644/650 are actually joint first but since Nancy is younger in age she is placed first and Dilpreet is second. Both secured 98.08 per cent marks. Similarly, Komalpreet Kaur is ranked third as she is the youngest among 8 students who scored 642/650 with 98.77% and stood joint second in the merit list.

The other seven students who have secured 98.77% marks are Aanchal Jindal of BCM Senior Secondary School, Jamalpur Colony, Focal Point Ludhiana, Simranjit Kaur of Shree Atma Vallabh Jain Vidyapeeth, Zira Firozpur, Moon Light Public Senior Secondary School, Haydenbet Ludhiana, Role of Sahajpreet Kaur. SD Public Senior Secondary School, Apara Jalandhar, Eknoor Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School, Warsola Gurdaspur and Sargunpreet Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School, Dhada Fateh Singh, Hoshiarpur.

Similarly three students got 3rd rank as per merit list and they are Gurleen Kaur of Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary School, Shimla Puri (Ludhiana), Balram Suri of New St. Soldier Senior Secondary Public School, Guru Ravidas Nagar, Jalandhar City and Sabreen Parveen of RS Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar (Ludhiana) scored 641/650 at 98.62%.

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) declared the Class X exam results and saw a slight drop in the overall pass percentage. The overall pass percentage this year is 99.06% which was 99.93% in 2021.

Board President Yograj Sharma said that once again girls outnumbered boys and for the third consecutive year, government schools continued to outperform affiliated, affiliated and aided schools.

Giving details, Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Secretary Janak Raj Mahrok said that out of the total 3,11,545 students, 3,08,627 students (99.06%) passed the board exams this year. While the pass percentage last year was 99.93%, this time there was a slight drop of 0.48%.

Girls have once again outperformed boys as the pass percentage of girls is 99.34% which was 97.78% last year while boys scored 98.83% which was 96.27% last year. He said that the pass percentage of the students of rural area schools was 99.21 per cent as against 96.9 per cent last year and the overall pass percentage of the students of urban area schools was 98.75 per cent as compared to 97% last year.

Board Chairman, Yograj Sharma said, “This time we were able to conduct the examination and the students have improved their previous results. Also, the pass percentage of government school students is 99.11 percent, aided schools have a pass percentage of 97.89 percent, affiliated schools have a pass percentage of 98.88 percent, affiliated and model schools have a pass percentage of 99.34 percent.


Gurdaspur tops with 99.52% and Firozpur tops with 98.65%

Gurdaspur district tops the state with 99.52 per cent pass percentage, while Gurdaspur was last in 2021 with an overall pass percentage of 94.21 per cent. This year Firozpur ranks first from the bottom with 98.65% as an overall pass percentage.

Pathankot is the second district of the state with an overall pass percentage of 99.48%, followed by SBS Nagar with 99.42%.

Malerkotla has scored 99.19% and is ranked 9th in the state’s district wise merit list. In Gurdaspur, a total of 19,674 students appeared, of which 19,580 passed; In Pathankot, a total of 6,696 students appeared, out of which 6,661 passed; In SBS Nagar, a total of 6,854 students appeared out of which 6,814 passed and in Malerkotla, a total of 4,578 students appeared, out of which 4,541 passed.


Improvement in pass percentage of government schools

There has been a significant improvement in the overall pass percentage of government schools as compared to the previous year. President Yograj Sharma said that this year the pass percentage of government school is 99.11 percent as compared to last year’s 97.43 percent, which has improved by 1.68 percent.

However, government schools have proved their mettle by retaining pride for the third consecutive year in the PSEB results of class X declared here today, said PSEB chairman Yograj Sharma. It seems that the inspiring campaign launched for transforming government schools into “smart schools” in infrastructure as well as qualitative improvement in teaching-learning process and tremendous efforts made by teachers under “Mission St. Percent” of the department In private schools in the state, he said, is almost out.
