Punjab Board is charging Rs 800 for hard copy of 10th, 12th results, teachers union criticized

Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced to charge Rs 800 from all the students who want to get hard copy of class 10 and 12 result. The Democratic Teachers Front (DTF) is opposing the decision and has accused PSEB of making profit from the examinations.

Earlier, the board had collected an amount of Rs 1100 as examination fee from each student of class 10 and class 12. According to a report in The Tribune, the board collected a total of Rs 94.56 crore as fee for the exam. However, due to COVID-19, the board exams were postponed. The association took up the issue even then and called on the board to collect money that was never used. However, the board denied the allegations saying they were not making any profit. He did all the preparations including the printing of the question papers, but the exam was postponed due to the pandemic.

Now, following PSEB’s decision to charge students fee for hard copy of the result, the association has reportedly met the Punjab Board chairman to demand waiver of hard copy fee or refund of examination fee to students who have Didn’t take exam. any examination process.

Talking to the news portal, DTF President Vikram Yadav has said, “We have raised our objection on this matter. Most of the students belong to disadvantaged sections. This move clearly shows that the government is fraudulently making education affordable for them.”

PSEB Chairman, Dr Yograj has informed that the soft copy of the result will be available free of cost to the students through Digilocker app and it is not mandatory for the students to opt for the hard copy. This is because the board is only charging the fee from those who want to get the hard copy of the result.

According to the news portal, the board is planning to charge only Rs 100 for the hard copy of the result from the next session, along with the examination fee, if one wants to get it.
