Channi issued clarification
After his remarks invited anger from opposition leaders and migrants settled in Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi on Thursday said his statement was being “twisted”.
In a video message on Twitter, he said, “Since yesterday my statement is being distorted. The migrants have taken Punjab on the path of development with their hard work. They have always contributed to the development.”

Channi further said, “All the migrants who came to Punjab shed their sweat and blood for the development of the state. Our relationship with them is like nails and skin.
“For those who come to Punjab for work from UP, Bihar, Rajasthan and other places, Punjab is as much theirs as it is ours. So it is not right to show it in a wrong way. The migrants are dear to us.”
He also said that he made a reference to the ‘Bhai’ remark Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) The leaders who are demanding mandate in Punjab.
