The first meeting of the cabinet will be held tomorrow at 12.30 pm. The AAP returned to power by winning 92 seats in the 117-member Punjab Assembly, defeating the Congress, the SAD-BSP alliance, the Punjab Lok Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Bhagwant Mann took over as the Chief Minister of Punjab on March 16 at the state’s Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh. Only Mann took oath during the ceremony, not his cabinet minister.

In his first speech after becoming chief minister, Mann assured the people of the state that his party’s government in Punjab would work to address issues like unemployment, corruption and the plight of farmers. “Work will start from today itself. We will not waste a day. We are already 70 years late.”

Mann promised that the condition of government schools and hospitals in the state would be improved like the AAP government in Delhi has done. He said that just as people from abroad come to see better schools and hospitals in Delhi, they too will come to Punjab. Mann also touched upon the issue of youth of Punjab migrating to other countries for greener pastures.

File corruption complaints through WhatsApp:-

A day after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mannu Announced an anti-corruption helpline, which will be launched on March 23.

The new Chief Minister of Punjab said that the people of Punjab will be able to register complaints of corruption through WhatsApp. Mann said, “99 per cent people are honest, because of 1 per cent the system gets messed up.”

Mann wrote on Twitter, “On the day of martyrdom of Bhagat Singh, we will release an anti-corruption helpline number. That would be my personal WhatsApp number. If someone asks you for a bribe, send me a video/audio recording of it. Strict action will be taken against the corrupt.”
