Punjab: Woman journalist has been assured bail by High Court, Document Guild also demanded to return

After the arrest, the female journalist got bail.

Bhavna Kishore, a private TV channel journalist, has got interim bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court (Punjab and Haryana High Court). The Punjab Police (Punjab Police) arrested him in connection with an alleged accident. However, the Editors Guild of India on Saturday expressed concern and demanded to get the documents taken into custody by the Punjab Police. Bhavna Kishore was in Punjab to report for her channel when the police arrested her after the accident.

The guild issued a statement on Saturday saying that they were taken in a car without the possibility of a female pipeline, which is against the law. Also in this statement it is said that the primary registered against the reporter at the Jogavad police station is “much excessive and unnecessary haste”.

“The EGI urges the Punjab government to release the journalist and direct its police to follow suit,” the Guild said.

It added that the reporters were doing their job, legal documents should have exercised due restraint with regard to arrest and subsequent registration of FIR.

Condemned by many organs

Several organisations, including the Press Club of India, have condemned the arrest of the reporter, his purple cameraman and the driver of his car. The PCI termed the reporter’s arrest as a “blatant attack on the rights of a journalist”.

Demand to withdraw the jam

It said, “We demand the withdrawal of the fabricated and unsubstantiated allegations leveled against the reporter by the Punjab Police and seek the intervention of Punjab Police in this matter. ,
