Punjabi singer-songwriter Jani Johan has written to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann seeking police protection after receiving death threats. In his letter, the ‘Bijli’ singer claimed that he had received death threats from gangsters and had requested Punjab CM, ADGP and SSP Mohali to step up his security.

Recently, Salman applied for a gun license after he allegedly received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar gang. Following his request from the authorities, the Mumbai Police issued the gun license. The police had also beefed up the security of the actor and according to reports, Salman had also made his vehicle bulletproof for added security during the journey. Salman had recently met Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar and Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Vishwas Nangre Patil in this regard.

On May 29, a Punjabi singer was shot dead by assailants in Jawaharke village of Punjab’s Mansa district. The incident took place a day after Punjab Police withdrew the security of 424 others.
