Leaders express heartfelt condolences on the death of industrialist Rahul Bajaj

Soon after the news of the passing away of former Bajaj Auto chairman and industrialist Rahul Bajaj came, several political leaders and well-known personalities condoled his demise. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari condoled his death on Twitter. He wrote, “My heartfelt tribute to Rahul Bajaj ji, a successful entrepreneur, philanthropist and former President of Bajaj. I have had a personal relationship with the Padma Bhushan awardee Rahul ji over the years.”

Gadkari also expressed his condolences to his family and sought strength for them. He further wrote, “Rahul ji who has led the Bajaj Group for the last five decades has played a vital role in the industry. May God rest the departed soul and give strength to the family members.”

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan wrote, “The passing away of Rahul Bajaj, Honorary President of Bajaj Group is a loss to the business community of India. My condolences to the bereaved family and group”.

Congress leader and national spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi relived old memories with Bajaj. “Rahul knew Bajaj for decades. Old family friend, despite the huge age difference. My father was the trust chair in memory of Rahul’s father. Together at RS, he and I attended sessions at his home in the Central Hall and Shared many light moments at dinner. Spoke to 2Him for 30 mins a few months ago”, he wrote.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote, “Very sad news of the passing away of the country’s famous industrialist Rahul Bajaj ji. He made a big contribution to the progress of the country on the economic front. Be a part of ‘Buland Bharat Ki Buland Awaaz’. In every household. My heartfelt tribute to such a great personality. May God rest the departed soul at his feet.”

NCP leader Sharad Pawar wrote, “Deeply shocked to learn about the sad demise of Padma Bhushan Shri Rahul Bajaj! The grandson of eminent freedom fighter Jamnalal Bajaj brought a change in the society especially among the poor and middle class people with his two wheeler technology. . – A Bajaj bike!

The official said that Bajaj was 83 years old and was not keeping well for a long time and died around 1430 on Saturday. His last rites will be performed on Sunday. He is survived by two sons Rajiv Bajaj and Sanjeev Bajaj and a daughter Sunaina Kejriwal. He had resigned as non-executive director and chairman at Bajaj Auto on April 30 last year.
