Rahul Gandhi writes to PM Modi, asks not to ‘force’ Kashmiri Pandits back into the Valley

New Delhi: Days after concluding the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Srinagar, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday wrote a letter to PM Narendra Modi, urging him not to ‘force’ Kashmiri Pandits to return to J&K without adequate security measures .

In the letter, which was issued Twitter On Friday, Gandhi highlighted the ‘targeted killings’ by terrorists of Kashmiri Pandits and others in the Valley.

Gandhi wrote, “During the Bharat Jodo tour, I met a representative of a Kashmiri Pandit organization, who told me that government officials were forcing them to return to Kashmir for work.”

He also said that forcing Kashmiri Pandits to return to the Valley without guarantee of security was ‘cruel’ and they should be asked to come only when the situation improves.

The letter further said, “The government can accommodate the employees of Kashmiri Pandits in other departments.”

Gandhi’s last public letter It was written three weeks ago. It was distributed among people as part of the follow-up campaign of the Congress to the Bharat Jodo Yatra. In this letter, he wrote about the country’s ‘economic crisis’, ‘threat to pluralism’, unemployment among youth, agrarian distress and ‘corporate capture of country’s wealth’.
