Jaipur: A ruling party MLA allegedly abused and threatened the SHO of the police station over phone. Alleged phone conversation between SHO Sanjay Kumar of Bhainsrodgarh police station and Congress Rajendra Singh Bidhuri, MLA from Begun (Chittorgarh), was born on March 2.
In the 7.37-minute audio, the MLA can be heard abusing the SHO, allegedly demanding the arrest of the accused in a case of criminal trespass.
The SHO also lodged a written complaint against the MLA to Chittorgarh SP Preeti Jain on Thursday and requested to transfer him to the police lines. He also gave audio recording to the SP.
“The SHO has been sent to the police lines on his request and the matter is being probed,” the SP said.
She said that the SHO has alleged that the MLA was pressuring her to arrest one of the accused, in which the investigation was going on.
The SHO said, ‘I told the MLA that action would be taken as per the outcome of the investigation which is already being done by a head constable but the MLA lost control and abused me.
He said that he voluntarily requested the police station to be transferred to the police lines.
In Jaipur, the BJP on Friday condemned the MLA for hate speech, while Food and Civil Supplies Minister Pratap Singh Khachariawas defended Bidhuri, saying the MLA has said it was not his voice.
“The MLA has said that this is not his voice. He is a people’s leader and keeps raising issues of public interest,” he told reporters outside the assembly in the morning.
Inside the House, the BJP stormed the well against the MLA and created a ruckus during Zero Hour.
BJP MLA Vasudev Devnani raised the matter and said that such conduct of an MLA is condemnable.
Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria said that nothing can be more shameful than such behavior of an MLA. He asked how can a government employee act when the ruling party MLAs behave like this.
The BJP MLAs reached the Well of the House, demanding a reply from the Minister. However, they returned to their seats when the Speaker intervened.
After this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal assured the House to get the matter investigated.
