Rajasthan Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Elections: More than 55 percent voting recorded in the second phase

The State Election Commission (SEC) said that over 55 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 5 pm on Saturday in the second phase of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections in Dholpur and Alwar districts of Rajasthan. The first phase of polling was held on October 20.

An SEC spokesperson said that in the second phase of polling in Dholpur and Alwar, 55.97 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 5 pm. State Election Commissioner PS Mehra said that in the second phase, 9.73 lakh voters were eligible to exercise their franchise in both the districts and 1,312 polling stations were set up.

Elections to Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti are being held in three phases in Dholpur and Alwar. 64.24 percent polling was recorded in the first phase. The third phase of polling will be held on October 26. The counting of votes will take place on October 29 at the district headquarters.
