Take from video shot by locals that went viral on social media
Rajkot: The Rajkot rural police faced embarrassment on Tuesday morning when a head constable, who was drunk, took a police vehicle and was caught having a private moment with a woman in a police vehicle on the middle of the road.
The head constable was identified as Ashwin Makwana after locals from Shapar Veraval found him and the woman with private moments in the car on Shapar-Dholra road. The two did not get out of the car, so the locals started recording the video and informed the police.
Makwana got into an argument with the people and later when the police arrived, he argued with them too. By Tuesday afternoon, videos recorded by locals went viral in the area.
Police said that Makwana was brought to the police station where he was unable to stand or speak properly. He later told the police that he had consumed alcohol.
Police said that on Tuesday morning, when Makwana was not on duty, he got drunk and got into the police car. He later picked up a girl and they headed towards Shapar-Dholra road, where they were later apprehended.
“We have registered two separate offenses against Makwana. One is under Prohibition Act and the other is for performing obscene acts in public and carrying government vehicles,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police Pratipalsingh Jala.
The woman, who later claimed to be Makwana’s relative, was also booked for doing obscene acts in public with the police.
