Rajnath Singh holds bilateral talks in Ulaanbaatar

New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday held a meeting with his Mongolian counterpart Saikhanbayar Gursed in Ulaanbaatar and had in-depth discussions on speeding up India-Mongolia defense cooperation.

The Minister also called on President of Mongolia Yu Khuralsukh.

In a series of tweets, Singh said India is fully committed to deepening the multi-faceted strategic partnership with Mongolia.

Great meeting with President of Mongolia HEU Khuralsukh in Ulaanbaatar. Remembered my last meeting with him in 2018 when he was the Prime Minister of the country. We are fully committed to further deepening our multi-faceted strategic partnership with Mongolia.”

Singh also interacted with the Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament and appreciated him for his continued support for promoting and expanding the shared heritage of Buddhism of India and Mongolia.

“It was a pleasure interacting with the Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament, Mr. Jhandanshatar. Appreciate him for his continued support in promoting and expanding our shared heritage of Buddhism,” Singh said in another tweet.

On 5 September, Singh embarked on a five-day visit to Mongolia and Japan, aimed at expanding India’s strategic and defense ties with the two countries in the backdrop of regional security metrics and geopolitical turmoil.
