Rajnath Singh warns Pakistan of befitting reply, says ‘we can enter and kill’

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday asserted that the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) would have been wiped out from the country if the Congress-led Chhattisgarh government had “cooperated fully.” Rajnath Singh warned Pakistan that a befitting reply will be given if anyone attempts to harm India. Citing previous examples, Rajnath said that if required we will enter Pakistan and kill the enemies of India.

“Some terrorists from Pakistan intruded into India and attacked our jawans leaving many of them martyred….I was home minister then….Prime Minister held a meeting in Delhi and made a decision within ten minutes. Our army jawans successfully neutralized terrorists on Pakistan’s land,” Rajnath Singh said in an event held to highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre in the last nine years.

“I want to tell my neighbor that do not try to mess with India and do not try to provoke us. We will not only kill from this side, if required we can enter and kill on that side (across the border) too. Now India has changed,'” Singh added.

Left Wing Extremism declined in PM Modi’s leadership

While targeting the Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government in Chhattisgarh, Rajnath Singh said Left Wing Extremism has now been restricted to only 10-12 districts and will be wiped out from India if the state government cooperated.

“Chhattisgarh has been struggling with the menace of Left Wing Extremism for a long time. Due to effective action under the leadership of PM Modi in nine years, its influence declined. Left Wing Extremism has now been restricted to only 10-12 districts. Some of these districts are in Chhattisgarh. I can claim the LWE would have been wiped out of the country had the Congress government fully cooperated,” Singh said.

The defense minister accused that there has been a noticeable increase in cases of religious conversion in Chhattisgarh, specifically in the Bastar region, which is predominantly inhabited by tribal communities, and expressed disapproval of this trend. He emphasized that such occurrences should not be tolerated and called upon the Congress government to implement necessary actions to prevent coerced religious conversions.

Tribal outreach in poll-bound Chhattisgarh

By emphasizing the pro-tribal initiatives of the Modi government, he mentioned that it had established a distinct budget of 90,000 crore dedicated to the welfare of tribal communities. Additionally, he announced 15 November as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas (Tribal Pride Day) to recognize and celebrate the cultural heritage and contributions of tribal groups.

“The tribal society had played an active role in driving out Britishers from the country. If we talk about the role of tribal communities in building the country, some people feel strange. It means the country was not told about the contribution of the tribal community and even if it was, very little was told about them. After independence, those who ruled the country for many years gave priority to themselves and their politics. Congress forgot the tribal community and neglected them,” Rajnath Singh said.
