The Rajasthan Chief Minister said on Twitter, “The priority of the state government is to complete all recruitment examinations in a time bound manner. The demand for postponement of RAS main examination is not justified.” Emphasizing his statement further, the Chief Minister in his tweet attached a letter to support the argument that most of the aspirants of Administrative Services want to conduct the examination on time.

The Chief Minister said that it is the priority of the state government to complete all the recruitments in a time bound manner, the competitive examinations as per the schedule. Under this, the Rajasthan Public Service Commission and the Rajasthan Staff Board is issuing the recruitment calendar. To conduct the examination accordingly. The RAS main exam is also being conducted on 25th and 26th February 2022 as per RPSC calendar,” read the letter issued by the office of the Chief Minister.

“Postponement of the examination is not in the interest of most of the candidates as it will put financial and mental pressure on them. Hence, the demand for postponement by some of the candidates is not justified,” the letter said.

The Chief Minister said that in order to complete the three phases of recruitment process of RAS, Preliminary, Main and Interview in one year, it is necessary to keep a gap of 90 to 100 days between Preliminary and Main Examination.

Having more gap than this puts extra pressure on the candidates. Other recruitment exams in the calendar of RPSC are likely to be delayed due to non-conduct of RAS main exam on time. There have been delays in the past as well. Due to the completion of the recruitment process due to filing of suit in the court regarding the RAS recruitment examinations held between 2013 and 2021,” the Chief Minister said, adding that the preliminary examination of RAS Recruitment 2021 was held on October 27, 2021. And the result was declared on November 19, 2021. So the candidates have got enough time to prepare for the main exam, he said.

The Chief Minister said that it was also not rational for the candidates to demand postponement due to the change in the syllabus.

He said, “RPSC has already issued a clarification. Slight changes in the syllabus are valid as per the present circumstances. The newly added subjects are related to the old subjects and most of the syllabus remains the same,” he added.

Gehlot also said that the state government had constituted the Kumawat committee to give suggestions on the smooth conduct of competitive examinations. He said that RPSC is following the recommendations of the committee. The Chief Minister also said that one lakh jobs have been provided by the present government in government departments, while the process of filling up more than one lakh vacancies is going on.
