The theme chosen for the current year for FLW is ‘Good Financial Practices – Your Saviour’, which will be celebrated between February 13 to 17, 2023.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the theme for the 2023 edition of its annual Financial Literacy Week (FLW).

RBI has been organizing FLW every year since 2016 to disseminate financial education messages on a particular topic among the members of the public across the country.

The theme chosen for the current year for FLW is ‘Good Financial Practices – Your Saviour’, which will be celebrated between February 13 to 17, 2023.

RBI said the theme is aligned with the overall strategic objectives of the National Strategy for Financial Education: 2020-2025, which aims to build financial resilience and well-being by creating awareness among the masses.

The focus will be on creating awareness about savings, planning and budgeting and judicious use of digital financial services.

RBI will undertake a centralized mass media campaign during the month of February 2023 to disseminate financial awareness messages.

It has also advised banks to give information and create awareness among their customers.

The Reserve Bank is taking several initiatives through various media and print campaigns to improve customer awareness on extant regulations to protect consumer interest, alternative grievance redressal mechanisms, safe banking practices, etc.

Financial inclusion and education are two important elements in the developmental role of the Reserve Bank of India.

It has prepared a significant amount of literature and uploaded it on its website in 13 languages for banks and other stakeholders to download and use. It aims to create awareness about financial products and services, good financial practices, going digital and consumer protection.

Last year, as part of the “Amrit Mahotsav of Independence”, the RBI launched a pan-India awareness program through Lokpal Speak and Lokpal Talkathon programmes.
