Virat Kohli looked disgruntled after failing to convert a rare quick start in Match 60 of IPL 2022 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings on Friday, May 13. 210, but the star batsman was dismissed for 20 in the fourth over of his chase.

Virat Kohli turned his bat in desperation and went back to the pavilion after the third umpire overturned the ground’s decision for a catch. Kohli was taunted for room by Kagiso Rabada as he tried to play one on-side but the ball brushed off his glove before bouncing off his ribs to the short fine leg fielder.

Kohli was confident that the ball had not hit his gloves or bat, but replays and ultra-edges showed there was a faint edge. Kohli was in some pain as the South African pacer’s ball hit his body at speed.

As soon as he was given out, Kohli was dismayed and disappointed. The former RCB captain looked up at the night sky and spoke to himself.

Kohli started his innings by hitting two fours in the first over of Arshdeep Singh. He smashed a fine six against left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar before Rabada’s unfortunate dismissal in the first over.

Kohli is finding different ways to get out in IPL 2022 as his form has left him. The star batsman has scored just 236 runs in 13 matches at an average of less than 20.

Kohli looked quite fluent and was determined to make it big and help his team post a tough reply to Punjab Kings’ 209/9 but his stay at the crease ended in the third over.

It is safe to stay that it was an unfortunate dismissal, as Sunil Gavaskar pointed out that he has been avoiding them in the current season.

“What can you tell him? He has 70 international hundreds. There is no advice to give him. Luck needs to change,” Gavaskar said on Friday before the game started in Mumbai.

Kohli managed to achieve another major milestone as he became the first player to score 6,500 IPL runs, but his halt in the middle is a cause of concern about his form.

RCB were tied at 44/3 at the end of the powerplay as they lost Kohli, captain Faf du Plessis and young Mahipal Lomror in the first 6 overs.
