On returning to the gym after recovering from COVID-19, a woman was shocked to find that the entire place, including her personal locker, had been sanitised.

This Twitter user’s frustration is relatable to all those who have returned to the gym after a long gap, only to find that their favorite equipment has been replaced or moved to another location. But in this case, it’s not just a minor inconvenience — the entire gym has vanished into thin air! One can only imagine the confusion and disbelief that must have come over the user upon arriving at the fitness center and finding it completely deserted.

The woman revealed that she took a break from going to the fitness center for two weeks after contracting the contagious COVID-19 virus. After making a full recovery, he decided to get back on the track. But when she returned to the gym, she found the entire place clean, including her personal locker. A Twitter user criticized his fitness center on the micro-blogging site, asking him why he didn’t get any prior notice about the shutdown.

“Had covid and took a 2 week break from the gym, come back today and the whole place is shut down and everything is gone from my locker. What’s up cult. No notification on app, email, message nothing? she wrote. In a later tweet, the woman highlighted that the fitness center doesn’t shy away from spamming her inbox with marketing emails, but she skipped making such an important announcement. “Can’t get away from marketing email but you don’t send a single email about gym closures?” He continued.

The fitness center responded by asking for personal information from the user in order to investigate the matter. “Hello, we have received your message and we have requested some details from you. Kindly reply us with the required information so that we can assist you better,” gym officials said in a statement. In another tweet update, They also issued a formal apology for the inconvenience caused on their part. “We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Please rest assured that we are currently investigating this and will provide you with an update as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.”

The incident has reminded many Twitter users of the Laxmi chit fund from the iconic comedy film Phir Hera Pheri. In the film, Raju (played by Akshay Kumar) invests his money in the company on the pretext that the chit fund will double his invested money in 25 days. But as D-day approaches, Raju finds that the entire place has been razed overnight and all his money is gone.

A section of users have also used funny puns to refer to the situation. One commented, “Jim jaisa ho ‘who are you to skip the gym’.” I’ll leave you all!'”

Another revealed a similar personal life incident, “This happened to me when I went to the hostel to collect my leftovers after the first lockdown, and all the things were gone.”

Another joked, “The writing’s on the wall ‘No Excuse Zone’.”

The tweet has been viewed by over 1.8 lakh people on the micro-blogging site.
