LONDON: A record 55 Indian cyclists have completed one of the toughest long-distance cycling challenges in the world – London-Edinburgh-London (LEL) 2022 – during a scorching British heatwave.

Delhi’s Garima Shankar (43) was the last known rider to complete the route, finishing two-and-a-half days on Monday. “Even when people told me you were out of[the]race now, I wanted to go ahead and pedal and experience the British countryside. It was an experience of a lifetime,” she said.
