Recovered mobile phones handed over to owners in Erode

A total of 57 mobile phones worth Rs 8.45 lakh which were either missing or stolen were recovered by the district police and handed over to the owners here on Friday.

Superintendent of Police V. Sasimohan said the cyber crime branch police, working under the supervision of an additional superintendent of police, is dealing with cases related to lost or stolen mobile phones, social media postings and financial frauds.

Police recovered 66 mobile phones through mobile tracing and investigation and handed them over to the owners. A total of 798 mobile phones worth Rs 1.17 crore were handed over to owners from 2021 to 2023, a release said.
