Redkin: UK Navy chief arrives in India on three-day visit – Times of India

New Delhi: British Navy Chief Admiral Siri Tony Radakin arrived in India on Friday on a three-day visit during which he will visit the Indian Navy western naval commandAccording to an official statement. admiral Radakin met Indian Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh laid a wreath at the National War Memorial here on Friday as a tribute to the martyred soldiers.
“He is also scheduled to visit the Western Naval Command (in Mumbai) of the Indian Navy, where he will hold talks with Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command,” the Indian Navy said in its statement. ”
Radakin will also engage HMS Queen Elizabeth, the lead aircraft carrier of UK’s Carrier Strike Group 21, which is currently off the Mumbai coast for a joint exercise with the Indian Navy.
Sharing a modern partnership bound by strong ties, bilateral relations between India and the UK were upgraded to a ‘Strategic Partnership’ in 2004 and further strengthened through reciprocal visits by the Prime Ministers.
LaterDuring the virtual summit between the Prime Ministers of the two countries on May 4 this year, the ‘Roadmap 2030’ was adopted to elevate the bilateral ties to a ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’.
