The Sensex was up 159.71 points or 0.30 per cent at 53,575.86 at 9.32 am, while the Nifty was up 49.35 points or 0.31 per cent at 15,988.00. Of the 50 Nifty companies, 36 were trading in the green. “Equity markets globally are likely to remain turbulent until the US Fed meeting on July 27. The most likely policy action by the Fed would be an increase of 75 basis points by the Fed, but a hike of 100 basis points cannot be ruled out. VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Financial Services, said, “Inflation in June is 9.1 per cent.”
