‘Release funds for epidemic related works’

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who also holds the finance portfolio, on Wednesday directed finance department officials to release dues to various departments that had developed health infrastructure during the second wave of COVID-19 .

Health and Family Welfare, Revenue, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike and other departments had undertaken several health related works to provide treatment to COVID-19 patients and to build infrastructure to control the spread of the pandemic during the second wave . ,

During the meeting, besides taking stock of the revenue collection by the Commercial Tax, Stamp and Registration, Transport and Mines and Geology departments, the Chief Minister directed the officials of the Finance Department to release funds for the expenditure on the establishment of oxygen plants. Government sources said that the procurement of ventilators, oxygenated beds and medicines in various districts.

In light of Omicron, a new variant of COVID-19, officials have also been asked to set aside sufficient funds to tackle the pandemic in the coming days.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister held a meeting with senior government officials and discussed ways to combat the spread of COVID-19.
